Praga, one of the automotive industry’s seasoned players, has commenced the production of its highly anticipated Bohema supercar, unveiled in prototype form over a year ago. Initially planned for production in the previous year with 10 units earmarked, the process encountered delays for undisclosed reasons.
The bespoke hand-built assembly took place at a facility in the Czech Republic, offering Praga’s first customers a firsthand view of the manufacturing process. These privileged customers not only witnessed the production but also had the opportunity to experience the Bohema’s final form on icy European roads, fitted with standard Pirelli Trofeo R tires and featuring a thrilling six-speed sequentially shifted manual transmission.
Each Bohema, crafted by the 117-year-old automaker, commands a starting price of €1.36 million (approximately $1.48 million), positioning it as a high-end, exclusive offering in the supercar market.
Praga Bohema’s Power and Performance
Following extensive development and testing programs conducted last year, involving notable figures like former F1 driver Romain Grosjean and Top Gear’s former Stig Ben Collins, the Praga Bohema stands out with its power plant—a modified 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 sourced from the Nissan GT-R by British engineering firm Litchfield. With 700 horsepower and 535 lb-ft of torque, the Bohema outperforms its rivals, including the Maserati MC20.
The Bohema’s performance credentials include a top speed exceeding 186 mph and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in under 3.5 seconds, showcasing its track-focused capabilities.
Customer Deliveries and Future Plans
The production Bohema will be delivered to customers in the first half of 2024, featuring unique specifications tailored to individual preferences. Customer handovers will extend throughout 2024, covering regions in the UAE and the US. Praga has already outlined plans for production in 2025, emphasizing the company’s commitment to the continued success of the Bohema.
The public debut of the production Bohema is scheduled for Spring 2024, offering limited test drive opportunities. While the final production count remains undisclosed, Praga had previously announced intentions to produce a total of 89 units, solidifying the Bohema’s status as a highly exclusive and sought-after supercar.
