The 2024 Seat Ibiza Anniversary Limited Edition Commemorates Four Decades of the Iconic Compact Hatchback

Seat, often seen as the understated member of the VW Group, is putting the spotlight on its celebrated model, the Ibiza, as it marks its 40th anniversary. The 2024 Seat Ibiza Anniversary Limited Edition is set to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024, offering unique features and enhanced equipment.

The visual allure of the special edition includes the exclusive Graphene Grey color, newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels in Cosmo Gray finish, and the “Anniversary Limited Edition” logo on the B-pillar. Interior upgrades feature a pair of distinctive textile bucket seats, complemented by dark aluminum matt accents and anniversary lettering on the side sills.

While Seat has not disclosed any changes to the chassis or engine, it’s anticipated that the anniversary model will likely retain the proven 1.0 TSI three-cylinder gasoline engine, capable of producing up to 109 hp (81 kW / 110 PS). The showcased example in the interior images is equipped with the DSG automatic transmission, delivering power to the front wheels.

The Ibiza, named after the island of Ibiza, holds a significant place in Seat’s history. Since its debut in 1984, over 6 million units have been sold, making it the brand’s most successful nameplate. While the future of Seat appears uncertain within the VW Group’s evolving strategy, with reports suggesting no new models after the current lineup concludes, the Ibiza Anniversary Limited Edition pays homage to the enduring legacy of this iconic compact hatchback. Seat CEO, Wayne Griffiths, expresses optimism about the brand’s current strength, citing a 24% increase in sales in 2023, reaching 288,400 units, attributed to overcoming semiconductor shortages.
