Historically significant Ferrari damaged in a car crash.

An ultra-rare Ferrari 275 GTB/4, one of only 330 ever built, was involved in a recent crash in Italy. The 60-year-old driver escaped unscathed, but the vehicle sustained significant damage.

The crash occurred on the road between Piacenza and Lodi in Italy. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown, but it resulted in damage to the front bumper and the right front fender. Despite the extent of the damage, insurance companies are unlikely to write off a car with such historical and financial value.

Valued at over $3 million, the Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is considered a significant collector’s item and is worth restoring. Ferrari’s Classiche department is expected to undertake the restoration, following rigorous factory standards or even exceeding them, and providing a certificate to verify the work.

The Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is one of several 275 variants and is not the rarest or most expensive among Ferrari models. It was produced between 1966 and 1968, featuring a V12 engine with a displacement of 3,285cc and producing 300 horsepower. The GTB/4 version boasted various enhancements, including quad cams and upgrades to cooling, exhaust, and suspension.

While the accident is unfortunate, the good news is that no lives were lost, and the vehicle can be restored to its former glory.
