The latest iteration of the Hilux GR Sport II unveiled by Toyota UK features enhanced suspension and bolder aesthetics.

Earlier in the year, we covered Australia’s release of the new GR Sport Hilux, which boasted an updated front fascia and more assertive suspension. Now, Toyota UK has taken the wraps off its rendition of the 2024 GR Sport II Hilux.

The “GR” emblem on the Hilux has historically signified a pickup that stands out from the rest of the Hilux family with its beefier suspension and more daring design. This essence is at the heart of the latest GR Sport II. Beneath the aggressively sculpted exterior, there’s an improved and reconfigured suspension system with a considerably wider front and rear track. The front track has expanded by 140 mm, and the rear track by 150 mm.

In addition to the wider track, this version of the GR Sport Hilux boasts a reduced roll angle and more precise steering response, leading Toyota UK to claim it as “the best-driving Hilux yet.” The approach angle has slightly increased from 29 degrees to 30 degrees, while the ride height has grown by 20 mm compared to the standard model.

It’s worth noting that while this GR Sport Hilux shares the same engine configuration, it produces 150 kW and 500 Nm, which is slightly less than the local and Australian versions that offer 165 kW and 550 Nm.

On the exterior, the GR Sport II Hilux features a new black G-mesh front grille with a gloss black surround. The mirrors, side steps, sports bar, and rear bumper are finished in black, accentuated by the silver skid plate and GR Sport badging. The vehicle rides on red coil springs and colored dampers concealed behind 17-inch black alloy wheels and oversized black over-fenders.

The interior of this GR Hilux largely follows the current road-going model’s layout. It includes leather seats with black suede inserts and red accents, complemented by red seatbelts, paddle shifters, and aluminum pedals, contributing to the rugged yet sporty ambiance.
