British racing sensation rounds out United Autosports’ all-star lineup.
British racing sensation Ben Hanley is set to join United Autosports for the highly-anticipated 2024 IMSA WeatherTech campaign. Hanley, a standout driver with an impressive track record, will partner with seasoned teammates Ben Keating and rising star Alex Quinn in one of United Autosports’ two cutting-edge Oreca 07 race cars.
This marks Hanley’s return to United Autosports, where he previously showcased his exceptional skills during three rounds of the World Endurance Championship. His outstanding performance in these races, including a podium finish in the LMP2 category at the 6 Hours of Portimao, highlights his ability to excel in high-stakes competitions. Hanley’s remarkable accomplishments also include securing the prestigious Goodyear Wingfoot Award, an honor bestowed upon the driver with the fastest lap times over a double stint.
With Hanley’s addition to the team, the United Autosports lineup for the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech season is now complete. He and Ben Keating will serve as the two full-season drivers, while Alex Quinn will contribute to the team’s endurance efforts. United Autosports CEO Richard Dean expressed his excitement about the formidable driver lineup, underlining the team’s commitment to achieving success in the upcoming season.
This year, United Autosports aims to make a lasting impact on the IMSA racing scene, with their #2 and #22 Oreca 07s set to compete against 10 other entries in the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. While the team has not raced a full season in IMSA before, they demonstrated their potential in previous events like the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, where they finished impressively in classes of 8 and 10 LMP2 cars. The inclusion of Ben Hanley further solidifies the team’s ambition and determination for the upcoming season.
