German tuner strikes a balance between style and performance.

German tuner Mansory has introduced a new ‘soft kit’ for the Porsche 911 Turbo S, showcasing a more restrained and sophisticated approach compared to their previous, more extravagant modifications. The soft kit maintains a strong carbon fiber presence, featuring elements like the hood, rear wing, side mirrors, and front splitter. The kit also includes a set of black-colored wheels, offering a more subtle aesthetic compared to their prior offering.

In contrast to the previous PL9M Evo 900 kit, which featured exposed forged carbon fiber and numerous aggressive design elements, the new soft kit adopts a more traditional carbon fiber look with consistent wavy patterns. It omits certain dramatic features like enlarged air intakes, wheel well ventilation ducts, and large roof ducts, opting for a subtler rear diffuser. This approach aligns more closely with Mansory’s modification of the Aston Martin DBX.

One of the most significant enhancements lies under the hood, where the soft kit elevates the 911 Turbo S’s power output to an impressive 900 horsepower and 774 lb-ft of torque. This represents a notable increase over the 888-horsepower Evo 900 kit and surpasses the stock specifications. The standard 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine in the 911 Turbo S generates 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

Mansory asserts that the enhanced power allows the 911 Turbo S equipped with the soft kit to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds, outpacing a stock Taycan Turbo S.

While specific details on the power upgrades have not yet been disclosed, it is anticipated that modifications such as larger turbochargers, an ECU tune, and a high-performance exhaust system contribute to the increased power output.

In summary, Mansory’s kit for the Porsche 911 Turbo S strikes a balance between performance and aesthetics, offering a refined and visually appealing modification option for enthusiasts. Despite its liberal use of carbon fiber, the execution is more subdued and less ostentatious compared to previous offerings.
