This T304L stainless steel exhaust not only enhances the V8’s sound but also trims weight, offering various tip finishes and compatibility with the factory valve control system.

The American division of British exhaust manufacturer Milltek Sport has introduced an impressive exhaust system for the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This system not only boasts an appealing design but also contributes to the V8 engine’s soundtrack while significantly reducing weight.

Constructed from T304L aircraft-grade stainless steel and fully TIG welded, the exhaust system is the result of collaboration between Milltek’s British and American facilities. Customers have the option to select tip finishes in polished stainless, Cerakote satin black, brushed titanium, burnt/blue titanium, or carbon fiber.

The system functions as a direct plug-and-play replacement and is compatible with the factory valve control system, meaning that the sound output can be adjusted based on the driving mode. Pricing for the exhaust starts at a reasonable $3,471, with an additional cost of $3,851 for customers choosing the brushed titanium tips.

Milltek conducted the final testing of the exhaust at its Tennessee location before unleashing a black prototype on the Tail of the Dragon, allowing the 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 to roar. Although capturing exhaust sounds accurately in videos can be challenging, it does appear to provide a louder note compared to the standard exhaust, while still retaining the iconic Chevy V8 growl.

While the company hasn’t disclosed any performance gains in terms of horsepower or torque, it has emphasized that the exhaust system is 39 pounds (17.6 kilograms) lighter than the factory exhaust, contributing to improved airflow.

It’s worth noting that various companies offer exhaust packages for the C8 Corvette, including Borla with two different kits and Lingenfelter, which recently unveiled its new exhaust system for the flagship C8 Corvette Z06.
